Who We Are
Established in 2002, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL) is a beneficiary of Temasek Trust and is affiliated with the National University of Singapore and the Nanyang Technological University.
With over 200 researchers from more than 20 different nationalities, TLL strives to develop talent and provide them with opportunities to achieve breakthrough discoveries and impactful applications.
TLL focuses primarily on understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie the development and physiology of plants, fungi, and animals. Research is carried out in a range of life science disciplines, to uncover new translatable knowledge that secure a safer and more sustainable environment.
TLL has an international network of partnerships and targets to create a positive impact on the development of biotechnology industry through collaborations with world-class research institutes, universities, and multinational and regional commercial corporations.
Current research interests in cell biology, developmental biology, neuroscience, pathogenesis and bio informatics are aimed at addressing both the immediate and long-term needs of urban Singapore. These provide new understanding of how organisms function, and form the foundation for biotechnological innovations to impact lives in Asia and beyond.
