Dr Mookkan Prabakaran Group: Postdoctoral Position
Research
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral candidate to join our team focused on strategies to enhance survival rates against viral diseases in Asian Seabass (Lates calcarifer). The project investigates the effectiveness of non-lethal heat shock, functional feed, and immunostimulants in boosting immunity and survival.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate treatment effectiveness and immune mechanisms
- Perform qPCR and RNA-sequencing to assess host gene expression
- Analyse innate immunity and conduct disease challenge studies against viral and bacterial infections in Asian seabass.
Requirements:
- PhD Degree in Aquatic Animal Health, Immunology, or relevant field
- At least one first-author research paper in an international peer-reviewed journal
- Strong research background in aquaculture with extensive experience in virology or immunology
