Aquaculture Facility
At Temasek Lifesciences Laboratory, we focus on pioneering research in genetics, disease, health management, and nutrition for feed and fish. Our specialized Aquaculture Facility advances technologies to support the farming sector and enhance local food production. The facility features cutting-edge systems, including a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) and controlled indoor experimental tanks.
Greenhouse
Located within TLL, our researchers enjoy easy access to laboratory facilities, streamlining their work for maximum efficiency. The greenhouse’s prime location allows seamless sample transport, reducing logistical challenges. Aligned with Singapore's goal of enhancing food security, we focus on advancing nutrient-rich food production, climate resilience, and sustainability.
Research Laboratories
Our modern research laboratories foster innovation and expertise, driving scientific progress. Led by dedicated researchers, these labs serve as a hub for groundbreaking discoveries and interdisciplinary collaboration. The 150sqm facility includes 3 lab bench islands, 2 instrument rooms, built-in fume hoods, sinks, and storage. With adjoining offices and proximity to TLL’s shared central equipment, the labs are ideally located within NUS, surrounded by a dynamic research ecosystem, promoting scientific exploration and advancement.
Biosafety Laboratories III
TLL’s ABSL-3 biocontainment core facility is designed for research with laboratory animals infected by potentially hazardous (Risk Group 3) agents that can cause serious diseases. This state-of-the-art facility includes two animal experimental rooms, class II biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, -80 freezers, and an individually ventilated caging system for rodents. It supports viral challenge work, such as vaccine efficacy testing against HPAI influenza and antiviral testing for emerging viruses.
Good Manufacturing Practice Room
TLL’s GMP facility is a specialized manufacturing space designed to meet strict regulatory standards for pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical products. Built on PIC/S guidelines, it features controlled material and personnel flow, aseptic processing, and cleanroom classifications (Class B, C, D, and non-classified rooms). The facility is equipped with an Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and Building Management System (BMS) to ensure process control and compliance.
Bioimaging & Biocomputing
The Bioimaging facility at TLL offers state-of-the-art instruments, comprehensive resources, and expert technical support for a variety of experiments. The facility provides access to advanced equipment for both internal research groups and external parties, along with extensive training and consultation in image analysis techniques such as 3D rendering, fluorescence quantification, colocalization studies, and deconvolution.
Media & Glassware
Good laboratory practice requires clean glassware, as even well-executed experiments can yield faulty results if conducted with dirty equipment. At TLL, we address this by having a dedicated media and glassware cleaning team using state-of-the-art washing and autoclave machines. This ensures that researchers can focus on their work, confident that their materials meet stringent cleanliness standards.
General Store
The General Store at TLL serves as a one-stop shop for all groups, providing convenient access to standard office and laboratory consumables, from stationery to pipette tips. It also holds licenses for the storage and handling of a wide range of chemicals, poisons, and flammables. This facility ensures that researchers and incubators can easily access necessary supplies without the hassle of procurement.
