Biosafety Laboratories III
TLL’s ABSL-3 biocontainment core facility is specifically designed for research involving laboratory animals infected with potentially hazardous (Risk Group 3) agents that can cause serious or potentially lethal diseases.
This state-of-the-art facility comprised of two animal experimental rooms and equipped with class II Biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, -80 freezers and individually ventilated caging system for rodents. The specifications enable viral challenge work to be undertaken. Previous projects include vaccine efficacy testing in rodents against highly pathogenic avian (HPAI) influenza and antiviral efficacy testing in rodents against other emerging viruses.
